- Definition: Blood donation is the process of voluntarily giving blood to help save lives.
- Blood is essential for medical treatments, surgeries, and emergency care.

 Why is Blood Donation Important?

- 1 in 7 patients in hospitals need blood transfusions.
- Blood donation can save up to 3 lives per pint donated.
- Only 3% of eligible donors donate blood, leading to a constant shortage.

Who Can Donate Blood?

- Eligibility criteria:
    - Age: 18+ years and above
    - Good health
- Donors can give every 56 days (8 weeks).

The Blood Donation Process

- Registration
- Medical screening
- Blood donation (10-15 minutes)
