St Marys Teaching Practice (Week 7)

3/2/25

Focus: Assessing student learning and providing constructive feedback.

Activities Conducted a small formative assessment (quiz or classwork) to gauge student progress. Gave feedback on individual work.

Reflections

What went well: The students appreciated the constructive feedback, and I could see their understanding improving.

Challenges faced : Some students did not perform well in the assessment, revealing gaps in their understanding.

Improvement plan: I will work on identifying the specific areas where students struggle and provide targeted support in future lessons. Differentiating my teaching to meet the needs of diverse learners will be key.

4/2/25

Last day of our teaching practice

Focus: Reflecting on overall student progress and personal growth as a teacher.

Activities : Focused on reviewing the progress of students and identifying areas of improvement. I also conducted a self-evaluation to assess my teaching strategies.

Reflections :

-What went well: I saw noticeable progress in the students who initially struggled. I also improved in time management and lesson pacing.

Challenges faced: Some students were still reluctant to participate actively, which requires more effort in fostering a participatory classroom culture.

Improvement plan : I will continue using interactive methods like games or discussions to encourage student participation. I’ll also work on providing more positive reinforcement to build students’ confidence.
